Joia Clifford is a Clinical Nutrition Specialist with a Master’s of Science degree in Clinical Nutrition and Integrative Health from the Maryland University of Integrative Health. She is also certified in Health Coaching from the Integrative Women’s Health Institute. She has a passion for supporting women’s health concerns, hormonal health, fertility and pregnancy, mental health, and metabolic health. Joia’s philosophy is that all bodily systems are interconnected, and that the body has an innate ability to heal given the proper support. Her training is rooted in the Functional Medicine paradigm, which aims to identify and correct the root cause of disease as opposed to symptom management. Joia finds it incredibly fulfilling to guide people towards better health so that they can spend less time battling symptoms and more time living in vitality, purpose, and connection with their loved ones.

Outside of work, Joia enjoys spending time with her fiancé and friends, cuddling with her cat Lola, staying active with pilates and strength training, and reading. She loves visiting San Diego’s farmer’s markets and cooking healthy meals with the fresh, local ingredients. She feels most at peace in the outdoors, especially hiking and camping in beautiful locations such as Yosemite, Joshua Tree, and the pacific northwest. She loves to explore new places and cultures and has been lucky to visit 20 countries so far.
